Claude Rabet est de souche Malouine et il fut marin et marinier. Son premier embarquement comme matelot sur le St Paul remonte à 1957, l'année de ses 13 ans.
Dix ans plus tard, il rachète la péniche "Léone", le bateau de ses beaux-parents où est née son épouse et il va travailler avec comme marinier jusqu'en 1969. Une fois
la péniche désarmée, la famille habitera encore à bord jusqu'en 1978. Puis elle sera alors vendue à un pêcheur en mer de Couaron qui s'en sert d'entrepôt pour ses filets.
La péniche est en train de se mourir sur une vasière quand en 1990, l'association ARVEO la rachète en échange d'une barge plus adaptée aux besoins du pêcheur.
Claude Rabet membre de l'association ressort alors des documents et le bateau va retrouver les frissons de ses origines en naviguant à nouveau à la voile avec des passagers.
Pendant ce temps, Claude était devenu Capitaine mécanicien sur le St Antoine un sablier de Loire, puis il embarque en 1992 sur un sablier maritime et il y terminera sa carrière
en 2000. Aujourd'hui, la péniche a retrouvé une nouvelle vie comme bateau à passagers sur le Blavet en Bretagne sous le nom de
"Nin'Arion".

Claude Rabet is native of Saint Malo and he was seaman and bargeman. He started on board of St Paul in 1957 when he was thirteen years old. Ten years later, he bought
the barge "Leone", its parents-in-law boat onboard of which his wife was born. He was bargeman until 1969. The barge laid up, the family stays on board until 1978. Then it
was sold to a fisherman from Couaron and was used for storing its fishing nets. The barge was slowly dying on the mud when in 1990, the ARVEO association bought it in
place of a barge more adapted to the fisherman needs.
Claude Rabet, a member of the association, was taking out old documents and the barge will feel back great original emotions in sailing again with passengers on its board.
During this time, Claude has became mechanical captain on board of the St Antoine, a sand barge on the Loire river. In 1992, he boards on a sea sand barge and completed
his career in 2000. Today, the barge "Leone" has refound a new life as passenger boat on the Blavet river in Brittany as
"Nin'Arion".
